Haruo (Mark) Doi

President and CEO

Mark Doi is the General Manager of the Curl Unit of Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation (SCS) and also serves as President and CEO of Curl, Inc.

Mark joined the Sumitomo Corporation in 1972 and has worked in the computer field since then. He was stationed in the United States (in Massachusetts) as the General Manager of the Sumitomo Corporation of America's Boston office from 1986 through 1992. His current mission is to build the Rich Client Solution business of SCS using the Curl technology.

Jnan Dash

Chief Strategy Officer

Jnan Dash is the Chief Strategy Officer at Curl Inc. He spent ten years at Oracle Corporation and was the Group Vice President, Systems Architecture and Technology till 2002. He was responsible for setting Oracle's core database and application server product directions and interacted with customers worldwide in translating future needs to product plans.

Mr. Dash is a well-known expert in the software industry. Prior to joining Oracle in 1992, he spent 16 years at IBM in various positions including development of the DB2 family of products and in charge of IBM's database architecture and technology. Mr. Dash is a frequent speaker at industry forums around the world on the future of software technology. He has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Master's degree in Systems Design from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He sits on several boards and advisory boards of companies. He is also a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) of Silicon Valley.

Dr. Robert H. Halstead, Jr.

Vice President and Chief Architect

Bert Halstead serves as the Chief Architect of the Curl team. Before his involvement with Curl, Bert spent over 20 years researching programming languages and parallel computation in both academic and industrial settings. During nine years as a faculty member at M.I.T. he developed the "futures" programming-language construct and implemented it in the parallel programming language Multilisp. Bert continued his work as a member of the technical staff and a consulting engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation's Cambridge Research Lab, where he guided early stages of the project that led to High Performance Fortran, a widely known parallel programming language endorsed by an industry-wide forum. In addition to consulting for numerous industrial clients, Bert has authored or edited more than 30 technical publications, has been awarded several patents, and has served on several technical journal editorial boards and technical conference program committees.

Bert has received bachelor's and Ph.D. degrees from M.I.T.

Dr. David Kranz

Vice President, Engineering, and CTO

As Chief Technology Officer, David Kranz oversees Curl, Inc.'s development organization and drives the foundational technologies of the Curl platform. Kranz is a respected authority on computer languages, compilers, and the World Wide Web.

Previously, Kranz was a principal research scientist at MIT for over 10 years where he was a leader in parallel computing technology. He then applied his experience to the World Wide Web and became a founder of the technology and language we now know as the Curl Runtime Environment. Kranz is named as an inventor on many issued and pending patents on the Curl technology.

David holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Swarthmore College. He then went on to earn a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University.

Richard Treadway

VP Marketing and Product Strategy

Richard joined Curl in November, 2006 and is responsible for managing all aspects of Curl's re-launch into the North American Market. Prior to Curl Richard managed his own marketing consultancy helping companies develop effective product messaging, positioning and go-to-market strategies. Richard also served as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for KnowNow, a start-up delivering enterprise syndication technologies.

Prior to KnowNow Richard served as Vice President of Products at AvantGo, a leading provider of mobile enterprise software, where he was responsible for determining product direction and strategy, as well as, overseeing engineering and product management. Richard served also served as Vice President of Engineering and Product Management for BEA systems where he led efforts in developing BEA WebLogic Portal. Richard has also held executive management positions at SCO and Digital Equipment Corporation where he was instrumental in the creation of the X Window and Motif standards.

Richard holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont and a B.A. in Sociology from Alfred University.

Takayuki Yoshida

Vice President of General Administration, Business Liaison

As Vice President or General Administration Takayuki is responsible for business administration and serves as business liaison between SCS and Curl Inc. in various aspects of the operation.

Prior to Curl Takayuki spent 6 years in Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation ("SCS") where he led the application development team in system integration projects. This included successfully leading numerous large ERP implementations.

Takayuki holds B.A. in Computer Science from Ibaraki University.
