Curl Unveils Curl eyeDecide Data Visualization Demo for Version 7 RIA Platform

Data Analysis Application highlights Curl's visualization, high performance, and sophisicated UI capabilities using Gapminder.org data

Cambridge, Mass. — July 8, 2009 — Curl®, Inc. today made available the newest example of an RIA "fit client" application. The application, called Curl eyeDecide, was designed by Involution Studios and is built using Curl's newly released Version 7 Enterprise RIA platform. The application features complex visual analysis of global data from Gapminder.org and demonstrates the value of visualization in the analysis of complex data. Curl eyeDecide provides visual analysis of population, economic, environmental and health indicators to give insight into global trends. With Curl eyeDecide, users can examine the cause and effect of metrics such as income per capita and life expectancy. By offering multiple linked views of different data sets and visualizing the data as it changes over time, it enables key causes and efects to be easily spotted.

Curl is providing the Curl eyeDecide application free of charge and encourages users to download it and have fun gaining insight from the numerous data sets available. Additionally, it is available in source form from the Curl Developer Center.

Curl eyeDecide demonstrates Curl's Enterprise RIA capabilities such as:

  • High-performance processing for large data sets, processing thousands of records with limited memory consumption.
  • Sophisticated user interfaces capable of 3D or 2D rendering for graphs, charts and statistical analysis.
  • Applet installer and desktop controls - Curl applets can be installed on the desktop for online and offline operation in a secure sandbox.
