Securing Rich Internet Applications - Jeffrey S. Hammond, Forrester
This past year, Forrester saw dramatic growth in the number of developers and application platform decision-makers that indicate that they are using rich Internet application (RIA) frameworks. As they shift focus from RIA platform selection to deployment, application development professionals are grappling with a number of implementation concerns, and security tops the list. Vendors have introduced some confusion to the market, but securing a rich Internet application is a matter of understanding its attack surface, how that attack surface differs from that of a traditional Web application, and where developers should concentrate limited resources in order to reduce risk. Building a secure RIA may seem like a daunting task, but there are practical steps that developers can take that will significantly lower the risk exposure for these applications.

Developing Secure Rich Internet Applications (RIA) for the Enterprise - David Kranz, CTO Curl, Inc.
This whitepaper describes the security architecture of the Curl RTE and Curl language as it affects all interested parties. It is intended to give a high-level overview of what the architecture is and how it can be used. More details are available in the security chapter of the Curl Developer's Guide, which is also supplied with the Curl RTE. This paper does not discuss more general security issues associated with securing servers, protecting data, etc. unless there is a specific Curl feature that is relevant. Although the Curl security architecture was designed with the needs of enterprise applications in mind, it has all the properties needed for secure Internet deployment as well.
