Release Notes - Curl Mac Beta Known Issues - Curl RTE 5.1.0 (Mac Beta) Contents Installer Mac: uninstaller issues
To uninstall the Mac Beta release, run the following command from a terminal window:
sudo /Library/Curl/7/bin/uninstallYou need to know the root username and password to run this command. An uninstaller dialog will come up that you can use to uninstall the Curl RTE. GUI and Graphics Mac: Command-key handling not quite right In some cases, the handling of command keys is not correct in that the command get handles by both the Mac system menu bar and by the Curl applet. Mac: Not getting all host appearance setting updates Changes to the system appearance do not appear on some Curl controls until the Curl applet is reloaded. Mac: printing doesn't work with embed or via Safari shortcuts Curl applets embedded in HTML print as blank area when the page containing the applet is printed. Mac: Safari has strange middle-click logic The Mac operating systme, under the influence of Safari does not process the clicking of the middle mouse button. Consequently, a Curl applet may not behave as expected when the middle mouse button actions are handled by the Curl applet. Mac: Curl RadioButton and CheckButton behave different from the same controls in Mac. Using the tab key to navigate between RadioButtons and CheckButtons does not work in Curl applets on the Mac. Also, using the space bar to select and deselect RadioButtons and Checkbuttons does not work in Curl applets on the Mac. Mac: Aqua RichTextArea style shortcuts nonfunctional in plugins The shortcuts for bold, italic and underline do not work properly in RichTextAreas on the Mac. Mac: The back, reload and other buttons of safari button can be clicked in Safari, when modal dialog popup. A user can use the navigation buttons on Safari when a Curl modal dialog is shown by a Curl applet loaded in Safari. Mac: copy on Mac does not follow platform conventions for copying words Copying and pasting of words on the Mac does not properly preserve the surrounding whitespace. Mac: PointerGrab sometimes does not end Occassionally, Curl applets with multiple windows may experience strange pointer click, drag and drop behavior. Mac: Repaint issues for CommandButton and other GUI controls Changes in the style, size and other graphical properties of CommandButtons and other controls do not manifest themselves until other events occur, such as reloading or mouse events on the controls. Mac: Setting and unsetting font options removes the label of the hidden TabPane Setting and unsetting font options and changing the font appearance of a hidden TabPane causes the label of the hidden TabPane to be removed. Mac: Tab buttons are located at the bottom when tab placement is specified as either left or right Tab buttons are located at the bottom when tab placement is specified as either left or right instead of at the top of the TabPane. Mac: The configure of "Click in the scroll bar to" doesn't affect Curl applet. In Mac's Appearance settings in the System Preferences, there is an option, "Click in the scroll bar to", and there are two choices: one is "Jump to the next page", the other is "Scroll to here". The "Scroll to here" option does not affect the scroll position in a Curl applet. In Curl applet, click the scrollbar, it is always "Jump to the next page". Mac: The highlight color of the selected text in some Curl controls should not be in black background with colored text. There is an option in Mac System Preferences/Appearance called "Highlight color". This option will change the highlight color of the selected text. If the value of this option is "blue", in some Curl controls, such as TextArea and ListBox, selected text will appear on blue background with black text, similar to other HTML controls displayed in the browser. However, in other Curl controls such as TextField and PasswordField, the selection will appear on black background with blue text. Mac: Scrollbar thumb is cropped by the down arrow on short Aqua scrollbars. On a Mac, the thumb of a ScrollBar in a Curl applet can appear cropped when the ScrollBar is short in height for a vertical scrollbar or narrow for a horizontal scrollbar. OS, Browser and Server Issues Mac: Need to redraw plugin after an applet dies If a Curl applet dies unexpectedly, the browser will continue to display the Curl applet, but, the appet will be non-functional. Mac: some cursors not implemented in FireFox and Safari Some types of cursors implemented on other platforms are not implemented on the Mac. Mac: After click the Curl icon in dock, it should bring the Curl Control Panel. Currenlty, on a Mac, in order to bring up the Curl RTE control panel, the user must click on the Curl icon in the system dock and selectthe Curl icon in the dock must be choose the Show Control Panel menu choice. |
